The handheld Sega Game Gear has a PSG sound chip similar to Sega Master System but with stereo features. Release years: 1990 (Japan), 1991 (The USA, Brazil, Europe), 1992 (Australia)
Game Gear is basically a smaller version of Sega Master System. Screen's resolution was lower but color palette higher.
While not being able to compete efficiently against Game Boy, Sega Game Gear offered a more technically advantaged alternative for those who were willing to spend more on their handheld console. It sold eventually 11 million units and was supported until 1997.
